Last year, we put one thousand white lights on this tree
and it was impossible to photograph it.
All I could really get was kind of a "glow" in the photo.
We downsized to 500 lights this year.
And I still can't photograph it well enough to do it justice.
But I think you can see it's a very pretty tree.
although it's usually out year round.
I love it so much, I can't bear to put it out of sight.
This is the only one I put out this year.
Cameron loves to talk to this Santa. They're about the same size. :-)
I found at Pottery Barn about five years ago.
Obviously, I'd never burn them. LOL
my sister Bev made me a few years ago.
when I saw it at Bath & Body Works.
It stays out year round, too, and is supposed to remind me
to do my Christmas shopping throughout the year.
So far, it hasn't worked. :-)
The snowman is adorable, isn't he? He was a gift from my sister, too.
And that's my new oil burner and a bottle of The Perfect Christmas Tree oil.
And every time Cameron breaks a candy cane on the tree, I stash it.
And I eat it later. When he's not looking.
So far, he hasn't figured out they're candy which is off limits to him.
Not!
but this is what it actually looks like,
and it probably will until five minutes before the kids arrive
on Christmas Eve. Projects, projects!
Only they're not finished. And they're sure not mailed.
There they sit on the high chair. Sigh.
is my gift wrap station.
By the way, if you run across this gift wrap container
in the after-Christmas shopping madness,
this is one of the best things I ever bought.
It's a great, great way to store all your gift wrap.
I'm baking up a storm,
but Rob and I are eating it as fast as I can bake it.
So this is ongoing. LOL Messy, messy!
Here's what the top of my washer looks like. LOL
Actually, I took this photo last year.
This year, there's snow on the ground
but other than that, it's exactly the same
and the street light in our front yard makes it impossible
to get a good photo, so phooey! This photo works, right?
Thank you to Boo Mama for hosting the Christmas Tour of Homes again this year. I participated in it last year too and based on that post, I seem to have my act together a little earlier than I do this year. I'm sure it's because I'm making so many things this year.
Beginning tomorrow, Cameron is going to be here with me every day for the next two or three weeks. And I love it. He's making this Christmas so, so much fun.
Merry Christmas and thank you so much for stopping in to share some of my favorite things about this special time of year.

What a lovely home and decorations you have! I just got my cards out today, and that was just because I haven't gotten but a few since we moved and no one knows our address! LOL!
Everything looks great!
I hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Linda
Good Evening Barb,
Won't you have a Taco with me? I want to tell you that I had planned on making your Tacorita's last night for our supper. I had showed them to hubby on Friday night. The girls saw them on Sunday night. My youngest didn't like the way it looks with the cheese on top and decided she wanted to have regular Taco's. So hubby said we would just have regular Taco's. I had Soft Shell and Hard Shell Taco's. Me and the girls had enough for our supper tonight. I am going to make those Tacorita's tho. I will just to have something else for the girls to eat. I may just make them after the first of the year. I love your home Barb. It is just beautiful. You did a great job in decorating it. I really love the Snow Globe. I love all of your decorations but the Snow Globe just grabbed me. My, my, my, I should say you have alot of Christmas goodies around. Now, it's getting closer to Christmas and you and Rob must stop eating it all. LOL. I love your outside look as well. I bet it is even prettier with the snow on the ground. Thank you so much for showing us your home. Your home is just beautiful. I hope you have a good time with Cameron the next few weeks. I just know there will not be a dull moment. When you have time Barb, stop by. I have a "Bodacious Blog Award" for you. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.
Hugs,
Karen H.
P.S. Do they sell the Sugar Free Candy Canes where you live? The mall in Jonesboro, AR has a store just full of nothing but Sugar Free Candy. You might want to check into that.
Merry Christmas Barb and Rob
your Christmas tree is lovely
I LOVE your Nativity scene
wow!! your santa must be quite tall if its as tall as Cameron
I like the snow globe and its display
You are a busy lady Barb
I do like your gift wrapping container Ive never seen one of those before

Your home is so inviting! I have the same Willow Tree nativity that usally is left out year 'round, but after too many parts getting broken, I had to put it up! : ( Maybe next year! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday!
Steph
wow! i love the nativity too! and that snowglobe is totally cute!
what a lovely lovely home you have! thanks for sharing!
I love the "real" special touches, like gift wrap in the corner and projects on the dining room table.
And I think your tree photographs beautifully. It is the nicest shaped tree I think I have ever seen, and I love ours, but I like yours even more. I love a full tree. Makes it hard to put the topper on :)
Merry Christmas Barb! Just in case things get crazy.
As always your home is lovely, Barb! The tree still looks wonderful even though you scaled back the lights.
Your countertops look like mine. So far I've made 6 different kinds of cookies with a couple more to go. My family is about to faint. They never see this happen. I think they think I'm an alien dressed as their mother. LOL.
Barb,
Your home is so pretty and your tree is beautiful! I love nativity set and I have wanted one for a few years. It is so pretty. Your outside shots were great. Thank you for welcoming us into your home.
Merry Christmas!!
Hello! I love your home Barb, so festive and pretty and your Christmas cards look darling! I haven't tried making the cracker jacks yet but I will!!
Thanks for the tour my friend!
Laura
I can't believe you were #373! I thought you would be #1...but then again, you have kept us pretty updated on how busy you are! I featured my much-less-crafty-version of your Santa stars in my tour!

You have such a lovely home! Thanks for sharing. :)
Oh Barb, your home is so delightful! I too have the storage gift wrap container and I to love love love it! I like your santa towels in the background too very cute! Everything looks so festive! I so want that christmas snow globe with the candles, that is so cool! love it all!
Merry Christmas! Do stop by for a visit I too would love you to come over for a palm tree cookie or 2;)
A photo from last year? Yes that counts for sure! I love the snowglobe too, especially with the silver set around it - it's very eye catching.
And I love the Christmas work in progress theme of your kitchen and dining table. It's so true...
I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses the top of the washer/dryer as a catch all for things until they get to where they need to be! LOL You should see what it looks like now!
Loved all your decorations- so pretty!
I loved your tour, Barb. Thanks for emailing the patterns! I can't keep up with you, but I mailed my cards yesterday. LOL!
I have the same nativity set, well, the people and animals. I like the rest of your set!
God Bless,
Marilyn
House looks beautiful. I like the candles the best.
Your tree is really pretty Barb...and I find that they're hard to photograph no matter what, or maybe it's the camera or operator in my case! I'm really starting to covet the Willow Tree nativity. My breakfast room table might have more stuff on it than yours, my kitchen needs work! I'm so far behind and trying to catch up. Glad you showed us around!
Hi Barb! I think that this is the first time I've been to your blog. Your house is very pretty and I love your tree. It could use about 500 more lights though...kidding! It's beautiful.
Everything looks great. Your tree is so big and beautiful. Merry Christmas.
oh, you have a lovely home!
Since I can't be there for real for Christmas, I so enjoyed closing my eyes and walking through your house again. From the wreath on the door to everything else, especially the tree, is just right for Christmas. I don't think I've seen Cameron's favorite Santa before. Would love watching him talking to it. I am so glad you can enjoy this holiday time with him. Looking at Christmas through the eyes of a child is like nothing else.
If Gary runs out of work to do on the house, I'm thinking of asking him to build me a manger scene, one with a kind of shed looking top we can put tree limbs across. He can't use Bev's doll for Baby Jesus this time, but we'll find one somewhere. Merry Christmas.
What a beautiful home you have!
Your tree is huge!!!! Must be real..LOL. 500 or 1,000 lights...sure is alot, but I bet it brings a pretty glow to the room!
Love your velvet Santa! I collect the small Santa figurines but want to begin collecting the bigger ones as well. :-)
Love your waterglobe...can I have it? Just kidding. That's another thing I collect to is water globes.
Thank you so much for inviting me in your home!
Merry Christmas from Dawn in Germany!
Just beautiful! I love the nativity set!
Merry Christmas,
Sue
Thank you for inviting us into your home. Everything looks for warm and inviting. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I love that your homeade cards are still at home. So are mine :)
Well, you did join in. I hope you are doing alright. Sounds as if you are busy busy...right on schedule. LOL>
Have a great week.....I'm going out today to finish up some things and have lunch with a friend. Your decor is great...and your kitchen looks like mine yesterday.
Barb -
Everything is just beautiful. I love your Willow Tree Nativity and that Santa is just adorable. My kitchen needs to look like yours. I have still to to shop for the ingrediants and then do baking and cooking - LOL. But like you, I am scared to bake too early because I do want some to be left for Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
Robin
You have no snow! And look how lovely your house is!
I'm frightened to show you a picture of my dining room table - the boy and my husband have been putting together one of those million piece puzzles on it for ages now.
Your home looks so comfy and inviting! The cards look great! I just got mine out this morning. I am going to have to get one of those gift wrap containers.
Barbara H. @ Stray Thoughts
Your decorations are really lovely, Barb! I'm especially impressed that you're making another one of the calendars. You inspired me to get the kit and do one, and I'm about the same place in mine as your picture here shows. It really is fun.
Your home is so pretty Barb! I'm always impressed with how neat you are. Even your "messy" areas are organized neatly!
Your tree is gorgeous and I love how you have your Willow Tree Nativity displayed with the greenery and lights.
I received your Santa Stars - they are so sweet! What a thrill it was to get them. I am mailing two of them to Becky the Butler's Wife because when she entered your contest I loved how she said she wanted them so she could copy the pattern and make them for others. Just paying it forward!
Thanks for the tour!
Just beautiful, Barb! I think what you call a "mess" just shows that you are busily preparing gifts and goodies for your family, and it's beautiful too. Your Willow Tree nativity is what got me looking for one, and I hope to have one before next Christmas.
It's beautiful Barb, as always :)
Your advent calendar has inspired me to actually MAKE one for next year, because, well....it's no use now LOL
Have a wonderful day, hope you got my christmas card :)
Hugs,
Sandra
I love the nativity!! And the tree--just wow, so awesome.
Merry Christmas!
Your decorations are beautiful; thanks for the tour!
Enjoy your time with Cameron the next few weeks.
absolutely gorgeous! And I'm certain it smells just as good as it looks!!
Blessings,
K
I'm always happy when I can make in into the shop (DSL) so I can some see you! Your home is so warm and inviting...I'll be right over!
I adore the picture of Cameron using duct tape! It's a man thing, you know.
I hope Rob's shoulder is doing very well by now! And I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!
what a beautiful, beautiful home...I love what you did with the decorations! You should add some of your pictures to this customizable slideshow to share...www.rocketxl.com/pampers/
& thanks again for sharing your recipe for Tacoritos!
Thanks for the tour of your home. I have been eyeing everyone's Willow Tree Nativity as I will be shopping for one at the right before Christmas sales or the after Christmas sales. Merry Christmas.
Okay, please tell me you realize that is NOT messy. I wont even begin to tell you what it looks like around here, tree with no ornaments, no lights outside, no cookies, and still a mess. Your home looks lovely, and maybe with some prayer and elbow grease ours will too in a few days. Since we only have six left, I'm running out of time! At least it smells good here from the oil you sent us, and there are goodies thanks to you also. xoxoxo
Such a lovely home!! Continue to enjoy your time with Cameron!! I'm sure you needed no coaxing on that however! ;-)
The snow globe is BEAUTIFUL! I've been struggling with fireplace envy, now I have snow globe envy. "Thou shalt not covet. Thou shalt not covet. Thou shalt not..." Oh, where was I? My kids would so love some reindeer like yours. Thanks for sharing, and Merry Christmas!
I love your Christmas tree! It's so fun to see your house at Christmas--I'm waiting on my camera to arrive in the mail before I join the Tour.
In case I forget to leave another comment before Christmas (the Christmas cards are being shelved for next year. With going to Grandma's funeral and all, I don't think I can get them out in time), I hope you and Uncle Rob have a very Merry Christmas!
Love you!
I so loved seeing your house all decked out for Christmas! My favorite is your nativity set. It's just gorgeous!!
Merry Christmas, Barb. Thanks for the tour. Your house looks exactly as I imagined. Sweet smelling, and simply, but elegantly decorated. Enjoy Christmas with Cameron! Blessings! Gretchen
Barb, everything looks so pretty! I love your tree -- it's fantastic! The tree skirt looks so pretty, too.
Happy baking and Merry Christmas!
Everything looks lovely, Barb. I love your Nativity set.
Merry Christmas!
