BOOMAMA'S BLOGGY TOUR OF HOMES

Welcome to my home....

My front door. I saw something similar to these sweet white picket fence planters in a magazine ages ago. I drew a sketch and Rob built them for me.

The office. This is where I do the deed. This third bedroom is tiny so it's a little crowded but it makes a perfectly fine spot to blog!

My slightly flowery living room. I was in a flowery mood when I bought this furniture. The oak rocker was my mother-in-law's. She rocked many a grandchild in this rocker. I'm continuing that tradition. She would love that.

My kitchen. Through that archway is my next Tackle It Tuesday project!

My haven. I have a wonderful bed. The "spa" (MY bathroom, mine!) is off to the left but it was too awkward a shot to include it here. You have no idea what you're missing - it's wonderful! Did I mention it's mine? Only mine.

I chose this as one of my "whatever you feel like including" shots because I love this long, wide hallway. Cameron's portacrib is normally under the wall photos on the right.

Our little back patio. Notice the tacky camping canopy. It's a hundred degrees in the shade here so I decided I could live with tacky. I have my first cup of coffee in the morning and the occasional glass of wine or margarita with my husband in the evening here.

I seriously considered making some messes just so this would look more lived in. But Brenda told me, hey this is the way you keep your home and we want to see you. So here you go. My home really does look like this all the time. But I promise you it didn't when I had little ones at home!

Thank you to our hostess, BooMama. If you haven't joined in the fun yet, run over to her home and check it out. We'd love to visit you too!

You know what I love Barb, is that you always remind me that it won't always be this way. And by this way, I mean, crazy, chaotic, messy.

You have a cute home. Love all the blogging space you have. I oohed and ahhed! :-)

Brenda said...

Barb, if I ever come visit, you'll have to pay me to leave. You have a lovely home! I'm glad you took my advice. Mine's messy enough for both of us.

Mom, your pictures turned out great. I love how Chelsea managed to be in the shots. This post made me homesick for your home. Sigh...

How talented of your hubby and it makes your front entry look so inviting and welcoming! Beautiful home! Thanks for the tour!

I love your beautiful home, Barb! I noticed that Chelsea has a place on the back of your couch. My cat likes the back of mine, too. :-)

And your back patio is very generous compared to mine! Mine is 4 feet wide and about 15 feet long. Barely big enough for my CH&A unit and my grills...gas and a small charcoal grill...and a little red wagon....and a bunch of clay flower pots...and...etc. etc. ;-) Another project for another day. :-)

Barb, I can just picture you in this house...it's YOU:-) What a beautiful home you have and I love all the decor in it...also love your furniture! This is the first Tour Of Home blog I visit:-) xoxo

What a great idea to put up your own awning over the patio. And I'm curious - is your next Tackle it Tuesday photos? Is that what was on those shelves? If so, lets do it together. (I'm 30 years behind, how 'bout you? )Loved seeing your place since I havent been there yet. It looks nice and calm - a good thing.Very clever of Chelsea to sneak in photos. Elway just sort of laid there, like - what are you doing running around with that thing that makes flashes of light... xoxoox

I love the computer desk, and it is very tidy. I'm glad you didn't "mess it up" just for us. Mine wouldn't look that way if I had kids or not, but that's okay. Beautiful view out the back, and I love the fence planters.

Sue said...

Oh, lovely! We lived in Colorado for two years in the early 90s, and your home reminds me of some of our friends there.

Rebecca said...

Love your home, especially the kitchen and bedroom. Everything looks very comfortable!

You were right to call me on being embarrassed. After I saw how the pictures turned out, I was embarrassed that I had thought I would be embarrassed.

I fight with my flesh on occasion but I am profoundly grateful for my home.

Malissa said...

I love your pickett fence planters!

And your white bedroom.

I also am glad you said that your home wasn't spotless when you had little ones! thanks!!!

Thanks for stopping by my tour too!

I love your planters at the front door! They are so sweet. I'm glad someone else loves their bed too. My bedroom's not much but I love the KING SIZE! Thanks for visiting me - tell your daughter that Hilary Duff was awesome and she really does seem to be a nice girl - is that the mother in me?

Wow! Love it all. Hard to pick a favorite part but that front entrance just says PLEASE come in.

Ditto to every one of your comments about BooMama. My heart hurts for her. I just know God is using these blog conections to illicit prayers for each other and when I see His mighty hand at work it just floors me anew how big our God is.

Thanks so much for your encouraging words over at my site. I'll keep plugging away as it is gracious woman like you that keep me coming back. I've met so many wonderful people who really care about and enjoy the same things I do and even different things that make this such a fun group of women.

Have a geat week. Keep cool if you can. Only 97 and 75% humidity here today. Son called from MN and said it topped 100 out there today. wow!

I'll be back by. Kim

PS so you think my house may stay picked up for more than 3 minutes some day huh? yet another wow!

I love your home-very pretty! I live in Colorado too so i assume you are enjoying this HOT weather too!?! It makes me miss our rain!

Dianne said...

What a warm home.
Looks like someone got up from dinner to take a photo of the kitchen. ; )
I like flowery too-I have a settee in my living room-black background with flowers!
Thanks for the invite.
I wanted to say I like your blog design too.

Jane said...

Wow!!! What a wonderful, inviting home you have, those planters are beautiful!!! I enjoyed your post above too and I love your banner.

Stephanie said...

I can't believe you made it to all the hosues! I think I am still on 40 or so!

I love those planters! I also love Colorado. Our WV "mountains" (actually I am just in the hills) are pretty, but just don't compare.

We used to go to the Leadville area pretty regularly to back pack. Well that was before kids. Maybe when they are older!
Thanks for the tour!

Renee said...

Thanks for stopping by, Barb. I've been popping in once in a while from Sarah's site and have enjoyed reading your thoughts.

I love the birds on top of your kitchen ledge (not sure what the proper word is) ~ such a fun thing to do. And it looks like I could use some tutoring from you, like, how to keep house plants green and how to keep fish alive. Looks like a great place to spoil a grandson! :)

udandi said...

I don't think the canopy is tacky! I like that you can draw a sketch of something and he builds it. Sounds like my aunt and uncle :)
Thanks for stopping by my tour!

Karla said...

A lovely home...and canopy. I don't think it's tacky at all. If you have to do canopy to ward off the sun, you did a great job picking a very classy one. :)
Thanks for sharing your home with us. I love the rocker, and the idea of the memories it must hold. Very special. And great job on the picket fences for the flowers out front!
Doggy looks right at home, too. ;)
Thanks for stopping by to check out my place. I need closure, so I had to include a walk back to the door. ;) Just one of my many quirks! Our back yard is nice. I wish I could've gotten it all in one shot. *sigh*
Come back & visit anytime. :)

Is it really 100 in the shade? I always imagined Colorado was cool and comfy year round. However, I'm in the North Country of Texas. I'm beginning to believe the 100 in the shade might still be cooler than here!!!

Thanks for a tour of your beautiful home. I'm so sad that I didn't get to drool over your private spa bath!!! I shall just dream about it!

You have a pretty home. But, you have an office to kill for!! Our 3rd BR is also our office, but it sure doesn't look like yours! I tell my husband all the time we are going to have to get some more desks! Mine is definitely too small!
